Breakfast at St. Swithins Cottage
Breakfast with a
simplistic continental breakfast in the "Murray of Atholl" dining room and
enjoy your host's freshly baked croissant as you gaze out into the Snug and spy
William Wallace's huge two handed sword hung above the coal effect stove whilst
contemplating all the battles of yester year and ponder your own strategys for
the battles laying ahead during your business day.
Continental breakfast to include:
the world renowned Mishter Milroy Croissants, toast, tea, coffee, cereals and
fresh orange or apple juice.
For a full English there are a few alternatives:
First journey just a mile or so up the road to The Farm
Café
in Ashridge Manor Garden Centre on
Forest Road where you can enjoy a gem of a breakfast from under £5 per
head. With breakfast available from 07:30 it is the best of the best west of
London and please don't underestimate the size of the "Kids Breakfast"!
Here's what Laura James had to say in her Google review of The Farm Café
back in September 2009.
"Best Brekkie ever!!
Real value for money
for a huge, delicious breakfast. The Sausages and Bacon are obviously good
quality as they taste fantastic and the portions are very generous. They also
offer great service and a large variety of lunches including deli style
Sandwiches, Paninis, Jackets and Soups. With a tempting selection of cakes and
coffees, there is plentity to satisfy any appetite. Definitely worth a
visit!!!"
Then in Twyford in the opposite direction you have the choice of two: either
La Fontana or
Sebastian's Cafe & Catering both of which are virtually on
the only set of traffic lights in the centre of Twyford.
Sebastian's
has two 5 star reviews on Google. 1/ I've been hanging out there two or three
times a week during my maternity leave - they are amazing! Good food, great
coffee (incl decaf), good company. The place to be seen in Twyford! 2/ I have
been in here a fair few times and would highly recommend it. Very friendly
staff, relaxed atmosphere, good food and coffee! Also has the advantage of
being the only place in Twyford that serves a proper cup of coffee.
Finally and for larger parties of 6 people or more The Green Man is happy to
provide a full English breakfast at £5.00 per head. Please see our
section on Large
Parties.
