Eating out when staying at St. Swithins Cottage
Closest and therefore most simple is obviously the The Green Man which is open 7 days a week
for lunch and dinner. It is also open all day on both a Saturday and
Sunday.
Another fabulous local pub is The Bell
Inn in Waltham St. Lawrence just over 2 miles away. It is is a free house
serving traditional ales & weekly guest beers. The building is historic
Grade II* listed and it has a large beer garden so families and pets are
welcome. It really should be on your list of things to do whilst staying at St.
Swithins Cottage.
Another lovely pub nearby is The Castle which is also in Hurst opposite the
village church. It is currently in the process of changing management and
Greene King are there for the time being.
Twyford being only 1 mile away has a host of quality restaurants and take aways
being:
a choice of three quality Indian restaurants;
Then with Henley-on-Thames being 6 miles further on from Twyford and Wokingham being 3 miles away in the other direction you are, literally, spoilt for choice. Here is a good selection for you in both those towns; first the Henley-on-Thames Restaurant-Guide and now the Wokingham Restaurant-Guide.
