With our in-house media system you can compose a personalised playlist of photographs (past to the present) in conjunction with music and even a movie!

Within the belly and soul of the ancient St. Swithins Cottage lurks a technological python of the new modern era IT viz. a "100 Mbps Ethernet Network".

Now you don't have to worry about what that jargon means all you need to think about is what it can do for me and my party. Well a huge amount if you take advantage of its capabilities and let Dean handle the intricacies of taking your data and making it available to you all throughout the house on your arrival.

Effectively Dean can link any amount of images you supply to him to any number of music tracks that you also supply in a specific order or randomly. By putting them on the house's media server they are then available to be played throughout the house on the various TV screens and utilising the various Surround Sound systems.

If you are really clever then can go one stage further and compose a movie which can also be shown throughout the house as well. Therefore you could have a personalised introduction movie setting the scene and then follow that by your playlist of pictures to music - fantastic!

Here's how you do it:
  • First - Pictures: Obviously you have to collate the pictures you want together.

A really good and easy way to do this is to create a "flickr" account and pass the address details to all your friends and family so they can upload images to it.

Be aware, though, that on "flickr" you have to go "PRO" if you reach 200 photographs which costs something like $24.99. This is important because if you add 210 pictures only the last 200 will be accessible and the first 10 will simply disappear!

Also make sure that you and your friends upload all your pictures into the "Your Photostream" section of flickr and don't worry with making "Sets" or "Groups" up as I cannot download them if they are in a "Set" or "Group".

You don't have to worry about pictures coming in at different sizes as Dean will sort that out when he downloads them onto his system. However please ensure they are all in "JPEG" format.

  • Second - Pictures: When you have all the photographs that you want to be used uploaded to "flickr" you then have to advise Dean of both the account name and password.

He will then logon to that specific "flickr" account and download all the pictures. Once downloaded he will then run them through a picture resizing program to ensure they are of a uniform size / aspect ratio and load them onto his media server.

  • Third - Music: Similarly to pictures you have to collate together the music you want run in conjunction with the pictures.

Please ensure that your music is in a "MP3" format.

  • Fourth - Music: Once you have them all together you have to get them to Dean and as music contains much more data than pictures this is slightly more complicated and dependent on the amount of music you want to play will decide on the format of the media you supply to Dean on.

Or if you prefer you can just use Dean's default playlist exactly as it is or tailor it slightly to your requirements. The default Hen Party playlist is as follows:

Kool And The Gang - Ladies Night
The Pointer Sisters - I'm So Excited
Jackie Wilson - (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher
The Fatback Band - I Found Lovin'
The Whispers - And The Beat Goes On
Shalamar - A Night To Remember
Kelly Marie - Feels Like I'm In Love
Yazz & The Plastic People - The Only Way Is Up
The Nolans - I'm In The Mood For Dancing
The Real Thing - You To Me Are Everything
Dusty Springfield - I Only Want To Be With You
Barry Blue - Dancing On A Saturday Night
Leo Sayer - You Make Me Feel Like Dancing
    Sinitta - So Macho
Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
McFadden & Whitehead - Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now
Melba Moore - This Is It

You could then load that music onto either a CD or a USB key and send it in the post to Dean. Or, alternatively, you could use a web site such as MegaUpLoad which, as the name suggests, allows you to transfer larger amounts of data between two or more interested parties.

When in receipt of the music by whatever method dean will load it onto his media server for subsequent playing.

  • Fifth - Video: Should you wish to compose a personalised video then its transmission to Dean would follow the same method as that of the music.

All you have to ensure is that the video is saved in a "MPEG3" format.

So that's it folks all you have to do is follow these instructions to make your event so personalised for that special person or persons you are celebrating - Olay!
